Prediction and Preview: Arsenal Vs Sevilla
On Saturday, Arsenal welcomes Sevilla to North London for their last pre-season friendly. The Gunners have won five of the past ten Emirates Cup events, with Los Palanganas finishing second in 2017.
The Gunners have one more chance to complete their pre-season on a high before the start of the new Premier League season against Crystal Palace on August 5, although they were defeated 2-1 by Lyon in the most recent edition of the Emirates Cup in 2019.
Arsenal won the Emirates Cup in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2015, and 2017, but Sevilla are no strangers to battling North London competition.
Last season, Sevilla finished fourth in La Liga, giving Spain’s major names a push for their money in the competition. The Andalusian side hammered Angers 6-0 last week and will be confident going into this match.

Arsenal, on the other hand, placed sixth in the Premier League standings last season and have risen in prominence under Mikel Arteta. The Gunners hammered Chelsea 4-0 in their previous encounter and will seek to replicate that success in the Emirates Cup this weekend. Arsenal will be keen to reclaim their former grandeur. They were on pace to finish fourth in the Premier League last season, but owing to a slump in form in the final few weeks, they had to settle for a spot in the Europa League. Julen Lopetegui has transformed Sevilla into a strong European power, and they have a point to prove in this encounter.
