IND vs ZIM: India Win 2nd ODI By 5 wickets
Zimbabwe entered the ODI series against India with a great deal of confidence, having beaten Bangladesh in both T20Is and ODIs, but against Team India, it was an entirely different story; they were nowhere near a contest. India won the first match by a margin of 10 wickets and the second by a margin of 5 wickets. India has won two ODIs with two straightforward and clinical victories. In both ODIs, India comprehensively outplayed the host.
The Zimbabwe series provides an opportunity for the Indian team to assess the form and fitness of the juniors, as well as establish whether anyone from the current crop is eligible for the World T20I squad that will go to Australia later this year.

KL Rahul won the toss and elected to field first, surprising everyone as he was expected to choose batting. Takudzwanashe Kaitano and Innocent Kaia of Zimbabwe took a cautious start. Kaia chose to attack Thakur after they had limped to 12 for none in seven overs. Siraj struck at the opposite end when he had Kaitano edge a ball to wicketkeeper Samson, who dove to his right after being caught off-balance. Thakur concluded his third over by dismissing Kaia and Regis Chakabva, before Prasidh Krishna’s perfect ball sent Wessly Madhevere back to the dugout.
After 12.4 overs, the scoreboard showed 31 for 4.
India seal a convincing win in Harare to go 2-0 up in the series 🎉

Williams hit the boundaries and moved well between the wickets, and he was on track for his second fifty-plus ODI score in 2022 when he bumbled Hooda straight to deep backward square-leg. With a 33-run outing, he and Ryan Burl had only begun to construct the innings.
Sean Williams’s 42 runs and Ryan Burl’s 39 helped Zimbabwe put up a target on the board. The Indian bowlers kept up their fine work, dismissing a woeful Zimbabwe batting team for 161 runs.
Zimbabwe set a target of 162 runs for India but ensured that the visitors did not easily chase it down. The men in blue suffered a mini-collapse, but because to Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, and Sanju Samson, team India was able to chase the total down with 5 wickets remaining.
Hooda and Samson kept the chase moving by displaying some of their sharpest offensive moves. Samson was particularly fond of Raza and Williams’ spin, blasting the two for three sixes combined before slamming another off Kaia’s legspin to secure the victory. Batting at No. 6, Samson concluded on 43 not out off 39 balls, demonstrating his finishing skills.
That's that from the 2nd ODI.#TeamIndia win by 5 wickets and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Regis Chakabva told reporters, “I think we had a really good fight. Last few games we struggled to pick up early wickets and we managed to do that. Today we were short of a few runs. We were up for the challenge, the bowlers hit their lengths really well.”
Sanju Samson is adjudged Player of the Match for his match winning knock of 43* as India win by 5 wickets.

KL Rahul stated “Not really, we do bat deep. Good for some of the guys to get time in the middle. I do need some time in the middle, obviously playing this series was important for me to take some runs and confidence away, but unfortunately, didn’t work out today. They do have some quality bowlers, I saw that in the previous series against Bangladesh as well. The bowlers came strong at us, a good challenge for us. We are here to play good cricket and win, every opportunity is an honor so we want to do it out there next time also to enjoy ourselves and put in a good performance. Wherever we travel, we get good support from Indian fans, very thankful for their support.”
Mohammed Siraj, who finished with impressive figures in the second ODI against Zimbabwe, talks on his bowling success 🗣️
