Rohit Sharma passes Shahid Afridi as the 2nd highest international six-hitter

India captain Rohit Sharma has surpassed Pakistani Shahid Afridi as the second highest six-hitter in international cricket, thanks to his score in the ongoing fourth T20I between West Indies and India, which was played at  Lauderhill, Florida on August 6, 2022.

afridiHe Rohit moved to second place in the list of the most six-hitters in international cricket, surpassing Shahid Afridi. Between 1996 and 2018, the Pakistan great scored 476 sixes, including 52 sixes in 27 Tests, 351 sixes in 398 ODIs, and 73 sixes in 99 T20 matches.

Rohit is recognised for his graceful pull strokes and powerful smashing shots, which frequently result in a hit over the fence.

rohit sharmaSharma now has 477 international sixes for India, while Afridi has hit 476 career sixes. The Indian skipper now ranks second in the world for the most international sixes, trailing only West Indies star Chris Gayle, who has 553 sixes !!

The Indian captain, who is also the top run scorer in the T20I version of the game, has hit 163 sixes in 132 T20Is, 250 sixes in 233 ODIs, and 64 sixes in 45 Test matches.

Rohit is second in the list of batsmen with the most sixes in the game’s shortest format, trailing only New Zealand opener Martin Guptill (170). He needs eight more power-packed sixes to overtake Guptill in the T20Is list, and with one more game against West Indies left before the Asia Cup T20 begins, he is sure to claim the top spot in the coming matches.
