This season, the league is preparing to welcome kabaddi fans back into the stadium with a surprise. On the first three days, there will be a gala opening featuring triple headers. Each match in the 66-match schedule is unique, and spectators will be able to see all 12 teams play a game within the first two days. Through the league stage of the vivo PKL season 9, fans will also be delighted with triple headers every Friday and Saturday.
The league has also stated that supporters would be allowed back into the stadium. The previous season was held behind closed doors.
Dabang Delhi won its first PKL title last season after defeating three-time winners Patna Pirates 37-36 in the final. Season 9 will go off on October 7th, with the returning winners of Season 8, Dabang Delhi K.C. facing battle against U Mumba. The second match will feature the league’s first Southern Derby of the season, between the Bengaluru Bulls and the Telugu Titans. In the final match of the first day, U.P. Yoddhas will face Jaipur Pink Panthers.
The organizers have announced that the second part of the schedule would be available by the end of October to assist the 12 teams in assessing and rebuilding their competitive tactics for the balance of the event.
Anupam Goswami, Head Sports Leagues, Mashal Sports and League Commissioner, vivo Pro Kabaddi League, stated about the PKL season 9 schedule, “vivo PKL Season 9 is set to bring the high-voltage action of the best kabaddi in the world before Indian sports fans across the three select cities of Bangalore, Pune, and Hyderabad. As with each previous vivo PKL Season, the League and its broadcast partner, as well as our 12 Teams, will set high standards to sustain the growth of kabaddi in India for in-stadium and on-screen kabaddi fans.”
The vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 will be televised live on Star Sports Network and Disney+ Hotstar.
