Prediction and Preview: Everton vs Chelsea
On Saturday, Everton will host Chelsea and it will be one of the most fascinating matches of the opening weekend of the 2022-23 Premier League season at Goodison Park. Everton narrowly avoided relegation last season, earning them a home opening against Chelsea.
Everton will try to do better in 2022-23 than they did in 2021-22, which was a very tough season. They finished 16th in the Premier League table, just four points above the relegation zone, and were in danger of going down to the second level of English football.

Everton have only signed three players in the current transfer window, acquiring James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil from Burnley, with the former available on a free transfer, and Ruben Vinagre from Sporting Lisbon on loan.

Lampard will be eager to exact revenge on his old club this Saturday, and a win against Chelsea would set them up well for upcoming matches against Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, and Leeds United.
Several players, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Andre Gomes, and Andros Townsend, will be out due to injury, while Salomon Rondon is still suspended.

Everton avoided relegation from the Premier League by the skin of their teeth in the 2021/22 season. Former Chelsea manager and Blues club icon, took over as manager at Goodison Park in the middle of last season. The judgement is yet out on whether he accomplished a decent job, but if pre-season is any indication, the current season will not be easy for the Toffees.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin became even more important after the summer departure of Richarlison, who scored the game-winning goal against Chelsea previous season. Everton’s number nine, on the other hand, has been ruled out of the opening game due to a ‘freak injury.’ Along with Calvert-Lewin, Everton’s only other senior striker is Salomon Rondon, who is still banned receiving a red card against Brentford in May. Seamus Coleman has been sidelined with a groin ailment all summer, giving Nathan Patterson a berth in defence. Yerry Mina and Tom Davies are both in question due to injuries. Back-up goalkeeper Asmir Begovic twisted his wrist during training and will join Andros Townsend on the sidelines, who may be away for up to eight months due to a knee injury.
Hello Blues, I’m finally here! So proud of joining this team and happy to have achieved one of my dreams since I was a KID, to play for CHELSEA F.C.

Chelsea have lavished cash in the summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling, with Marc Cucurella and more anticipated to follow as the club looks to build a championship challenge under Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea is starting from scratch as they play their first season under new owner Todd Boehly. The American investor succeeded former owner Roman Abramovich after the UK government sanctioned all of the Russian’s assets, including Chelsea Football Club. Although the Chelsea management has not yet provided Tuchel with all of the players he wishes, the great majority of the players at his disposal are anticipated to be fit for the journey.

Armando Broja escaped an unpleasant tumble during practise unhurt. Ross Barkley might face his former club after Tuchel defined his hamstring strain as “more of an annoyance than an injury.”
Timo Werner, on the other hand, is questionable due to a more significant hamstring injury.
The Blues added Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Gabriel Slonina to their team this summer. However, since Romelu Lukaku went back to Inter Milan on loan, they are still in need of a centre forward.
Everton Starting 11: Godfrey, Patterson, McNeil, Doucoure, Allan, Pickford, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko, Gordon, Gray,
Chelsea Starting 11: Mendy, Azpilicueta, Kante, Silva, Koulibaly, James, Mount, Havertz, Sterling, Jorginho, Chilwell
Everton 2-1 Chelsea, in our opinion.
Chelsea are not exactly where they want to be before the new season begins, but Everton are also lacking. We anticipate a close game and would not be shocked to see a draw, but Everton should have just enough to win.
