Tekken Bloodline released
When it comes to fighting video games, Tekken reigns foremost, and Netflix’s latest adaption, Bloodline, aims to uphold that reputation and strike another KO. It’s no wonder that fans all around the world are thrilled for Tekken: Bloodline, the new anime series based on one of the longest-running videogame narratives of all time and one of the best-selling videogame franchises of all time.
The finest battles are personal, and most Tekken fights are. The first entry in the series was launched in 1994, and it’s still going strong today, with new entries, characters, and combat styles. Except for a few odd characters, Tekken has one of the most realistic combat techniques in video games. Starting with the events of the third game, Netflix is now converting the classic series into a 3D anime.
The wait was definitely worth it for Tekken: Bloodline. It contains a gritty, dramatic origin narrative that follows Jin Kazama from childhood to manhood, experiencing his mother’s apparent murder due to a demon and then traveling out into the world to locate his grandpa Heihachi Mishima for training to revenge her death. The anime series does not begin with people fighting, but instead teases the audience with the King of Iron Fist Tournament. It’s a slow burn, but it’s worth the audience’s patience as the developers try to fill out the universe of Tekken in a meaningful way rather than going right into the action.
