“Virat is one of the greatest cricketers ever to play the game. The form is temporary, class is permanent. Virat remains world-class. Virat and I remain in regular contact. We are friends, and he certainly does not need me to tell him the importance of working hard during a bad patch,” De Villiers told reporters.
Ab De also talked about the important question of whether or not the ODI format is fading away in the interaction. When discussing the subject, he stated,
“It seems clear that T20 cricket will continue to grow and grow, inevitably at the expense of other formats, I think the impact would be minimal. There will always be space for international cricket, so as long as it generates revenue for the game, and it certainly does that now. There is, however, no doubt that global franchises will play a major role in the evolution of the game.” he explained.
With regards to the RCB hall of fame, Ab de Villiers said:
“I have been privileged to be associated with RCB for many years, and remain in close contact with the franchise. I am looking forward to being inducted into the RCB Hall of Fame at some stage during the 2023 IPL – that will be a great honor.”

He also said that he enjoys watching Suryakumar Yadav play and that the Indian batter should be given a chance to be himself. This was in response to a question about how former Australia captain Ricky Ponting had said that Suryakumar Yadav’s way of batting was similar to his.
Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, outlined why the Asian championship will be crucial for Virat Kohli.
Pathan stated, “As far as the mind is concerned, what Virat Kohli will be thinking, what kind of mindset he will be coming in with and playing the matches, I think yes, Asia Cup is very, very important but when I look forward to the World Cup, where the pitches will be very, very good in Australia, which he likes, he thrives on Australian pitches, he’s done really well.”
“So Indian team needs Virat Kohli in top form. He comes back from Asia Cup in top form, I think it’s a win-win situation for Virat Kohli and the Indian team,” he added.
