Women’s FA Cup: Watford Women crush Fulham Women with 7 goals
Watford Women advanced to the second round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup with a resounding seven-goal victory over Fulham at Grosvenor Vale.
Poppy Wilson, Flo Fyfe, and Bianca Baptiste each scored two goals in the Hornets’ 7-1 victory, with Gemma Davison chipping in late to put the Hornets in the running for round two.

Alex Hayman equalised in the second half for the Cottagers, who were competitive for much of the game, but Watford’s strong goal-scoring form sealed another easy victory.
Davison came within two minutes of opening the score, identical to her goal against Plymouth Argyle in the previous game at The Vale, but couldn’t keep her strike under the crossbar.

Wilson, though, did not have to wait long for a goal, winning the ball in a defensive scramble and poking into the bottom corner for her third of the season.
The Hornets were unlucky not to increase their advantage soon after through Annie Rossiter, as both of her tries fell short of the mark.
After half an hour, Fyfe continued her great run at home with a well-taken curler that past Holly Cowan at the far post, before Wilson added a header to make it three in a row.

Fyfe added her goal on the hour mark following additional forward domination from the Golden Girls, finishing cleanly inside the box, taking a dominant scoreline into the half.
Fulham got a goal back with 15 minutes remaining via Heyman, finishing a fast offensive move that finally rewarded the Cottagers striker with an easy finish.
Davison, not satisfied with a three-goal lead, surged into the box and hammered home a fifth for Damon Lathrope’s side, restoring the margin of goals and re-establishing control of the match.

Substitute Baptiste added gloss to the scoreline with two wonderful shots with full-time approaching, striking each corner from the identical spot on the 87th and 90th minutes – her first goals since the opening day.
Watford can now look forward to a return to FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division action after a three-week break, having advanced in the FAWNL Cup and Vitality Women’s FA Cup in consecutive weeks. Billericay Town visit The Vale on Sunday [November 20], with the Hornets looking to reclaim first place after Oxford United defeated Gillingham.
