FIFA World Cup 2022: Schedule of Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Final

The FIFA Qatar World Cup, which commenced on November 20, saw 32 teams begin their quest for the prized trophy, but with only eight of the 32 teams remaining in the competition, the quarter-finals, which begin on December 9, take on increased significance to their goals. Only eight of the 64 matches are left before the victors lift the FIFA World Cup trophy on December 18. Let’s see who realises their dream as the event unfolds.

Lionel Messi has already indicated that this will be his final World Cup for Argentina, who, despite losing the opener against Saudi Arabia, are among the favourites to win the tournament. After winning his first international championship with Argentina in the Copa America in 2021, there would be no better way to send Messi goodbye than with a World Cup triumph. Ronaldo has not stated that this will be his final World Cup, but he will be 41 by the time the next World Cup takes place.

France, minus Karim Benzema, Christopher Nkunku, N’Golo Kante, and Paul Pogba, will seek to overcome injuries and off-the-field controversy to defend their championship from 2018, although the French will have hard opposition from young England and Brazil squads. After a dismal run of friendlies coming up to the World Cup, the United States will be relieved to advance from the group stage.
