After two years of beta testing, the game was finally published on July 9, 2013, and the competition quickly established itself as Valve’s primary esports tournament event. These one-of-a-kind characters vary from mystical strategists to ferocious brutes and clever rogues. The hero pool in the game is wide and infinitely different, with each character capable of unleashing tremendous powers and deadly ultimates on their road to triumph.
With additional heroes joining the massive roster every year, players must study and understand which characters to choose according on their playstyle.
The game contains 123 playable characters as of patch 7.31, including 43 intelligence, 42 strength, and 38 agility heroes.

Muerta, who will be launched on February 23, 2023, will join the game’s hero roster.
