Everton’s players have a busy international weekend

Everton’s players were involved in a lot of international activity over the weekend.

Jordan Pickford kept a clean sheet for England against Vitalii Mykolenko’s Ukraine at home, while Nathan Patterson represented Scotland and Isaac Price got his second appearance for Northern Ireland.

Pickford played every minute for England at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening, guiding the Three Lions to a 2-0 victory and another three points in their UEFA European Championships qualifying campaign.

Meanwhile, Mykolenko began at left back for the visitors until being substituted by Eduard Sobol on 62 minutes.

Pickford earned his 52nd international cap and 25th clean sheet for England on a quiet evening for the Everton goalkeeper. Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur and Bukayo Saka of Arsenal scored in the first half before Gareth Southgate’s squad strolled to win in the second 45 minutes.

Northern Ireland lost 1-0 to Finland in a UEFA European Championship qualifier at Windsor Park on Sunday.

Isaac Price, an Everton youth, came off the bench with 11 minutes remaining to earn his second senior international cap, only days after earning his debut in a 2-0 away win over San Marino.

Nathan Patterson played for Scotland in their 3-0 triumph over Cyprus at Hampden Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Everton right-back was replaced in the 80th minute with the score 1-0, before Manchester United’s Scott McTominay scored a late double to secure the three points.

Meanwhile, James Garner assisted England Under-21s to a 4-0 victory over France Under-21s at the King Power Stadium.

With the score at 1-0, manager Lee Carsley made a slew of second-half substitutions, with the Blues midfielder replacing Morgan Gibbs-White on 72 minutes.

Ishe Samuels-Smith played the entire game for England Under-17s in their 2-0 win against Northern Ireland Under-17s.

Martin Sherif appeared for the Netherlands Under-17s in the second half of their 2-2 tie with Denmark Under-17s.

In addition, George Morgan made his debut for Wales Under-17s in their 1-1 tie with Iceland Under-17s.
