Valve disables flawed Dota 2 hero as vulnerable server crash problem sweeps across the game

After Dota 2 players found a terrible problem involving a neutral item interaction that may crash matches nearly at will, Valve was compelled to deactivate Lone Druid. Until the developers discover a solution for the druid and his spirit bear companion, the hero will not be available.

dotaOn Reddit, someone shared steps on how to accomplish it.

“Hi to all of you, I will describe how the problem operates since I want Valve to address the server crash as soon as feasible.

Any neutral item with a cooldown is required.

Use it after moving it to the bear and then back to the druid.

You can use things on allies (not the bear), purchase and trade stuff, teleport, or press Q to call the bear in order to crash the server while the neutral item is on cooldown. A crash will result from all of these acts. Purchasing and selling any object is the simplest method.”

dotaLone Druid is thus prohibited from using matchmaking in Dota 2 as of the publication of these measures.

This is not the first problem found since the introduction of patch 7.37, which made it possible to compromise the Dota 2 game server. Prior to it, Denis “sikle” Lerman, a Team Spirit analyst, discovered a comparable weakness with the Enchantress-hero, which was clarified by the item Aghanim’s Sceptre. It was said that the bug functioned while using a neutral item with an active ability. It set off If the main character received such an item, returned it to the bear, and utilised it. Purchasing an item and then selling it right away would cause the server to crash during the cooldown.

When Lone Druid will resume matchmaking is unclear. Meepo was involved in a similar situation in the past. As the hero might amass a substantial quantity of gold rapidly, the creators decided to remove him from the game. Within a day, the problem was resolved.

Earlier, Valve issued patch 7.37. Iron Talon has returned, and the developers have updated various intrinsic abilities and features in addition to rebalancing several heroes. As of right now, there is no word on when Lone Druid will come back in matchmaking.

dotaOne of the numerous Dota 2 issues that was fixed when version 7.37 was released was the Lone Druid bug, which was essentially as gamebreaking as they get. Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in the quantity of fatal flaws or exploits in Dota 2. One such exploit, Meepo, from July, allowed players to duplicate neutral goods; it was promptly corrected, but it did not require Valve to remove the hero from the queue.
