Stray surpasses God of War as the best-rated Steam game of 2022

Stray has surpassed God of War as the most popular game on Steam in 2022. Annapurna Interactive’s post-apocalyptic cat adventure game is currently the highest-rated game on Steam this year. According to Steam250, which provides a score to Steam titles based on unfavourable or positive ratings from users. These are then merged to demonstrate how gamers rated them.

Stray, developed by BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive, was one of the most anticipated games before its release and the most wishlisted game on Steam. The game received good reviews from both players and critics upon its release, with acclaim being showered on the game’s environment design, ambience, cyberpunk aesthetic, and background soundtrack.

Stray has received an 8.61 rating from Steam250, indicating that 98 percent of the 42,665 reviews are good. Stray has just enough favourable reviews to overtake Sony Santa Monica’s PC port as the number-one game, despite God of War having higher total reviews.

Players in Stray accompany a lovely ginger cat on its trek back to its cat family. To do this, the feline protagonist wanders around the game’s Kowloon Walled City-inspired landscape. Despite the absence of humans, the environment is populated with various humanoid robots, each with their own distinct personality and quirks.

Following Stray and God of War at the moment are PowerWash Simulator, Teardown, Dorfromantik, Neon White, The Looker, Wobbledogs, The Planet Crafter, and Raft.

Despite having the highest user rating right now, Stray has yet to appear on Steam250’s all-time list. Stray was released on July 19th for PC, PS4 and PS5. The game smashed the concurrent player record for any Annapurna Interactive published game on Steam one day after its release. This makes it the studio’s most successful PC launch to date.
