NODWIN Gaming collaborates with Star Sports to broadcast BGMI

South Asian Esports organization NODWIN Gaming moved into an agreement with Star Sports, the Indian sports broadcaster. According to the collaboration, Star Sports has broadcasted live coverage of the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Master Series event on the 24th of June.

The BGMI broadcast is held at the NODWIN studios, a dedicated platform specially built to host an esports program in New Delhi. There will be twenty-four teams, competing for the prize money of INR 1.5 crore.

Star Sports has made its mark in the esports segment with this agreement.

Vishal Parekh has been appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer for NODWIN Gaming. On his appointment, the company states that he will strengthen NODWIN’s reach within India and across global shores. The newly appointed CMO will devise a strategy and implement a global communication and marketing plan to feed the company’s aspirations for growth.

MD and Co-founder Akshat Rathee of NODWIN Gaming said, “We have been pitching for the collaboration through the pandemic times. We believe it is a huge step towards making esports for the masses.”

Head-Sports at Disney Star, Sanjog Gupta, said, “Esports is gradually becoming a prominent sports category in India. People are accepting it as a competitive sport and already gained a strong foothold in the digital sphere. Therefore, Star Sports being always the favourite destination for sports fandom, we make an effort to grow new viewers and provide meaningful and contemporary content to binge on.Our agreement with NODWIN Gaming will re-shape the future of esports in India by introducing world-renowned players and top-quality competition for millions of TV audiences across the country. In addition, we are hopeful to ignite fandom for esports amongst young athletes and games.

The Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Master Series championship scheduled timeline is 24th June to 17th July, 22. It will be broadcasted in Hindi, Tamil, and English. The tournament will be live broadcast on Star Sports 2 from NODWIN Studios. The prize pool money is INR 1.5 crore, and the team will compete to earn a pie of that amount.

International multi-sporting tournaments like Asian Games, Olympics and Commonwealth Games have inducted Esports into their schedule of sports. It is a notable testament to the growing stature of the sport globally.
