Vampire Esports wins the PMWI Main Event, Crowned champions
The PMWI 2022 is part of the Gamers8 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Teams from all around the globe have traveled to the Middle Eastern country to participate from the Boulevard Riyadh City esports venue.
Vampire Esports has won the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) Main Tournament 2022 after three days of tough competition. Thailand’s Vampire Esports team dominated the competition. Despite facing great resistance from the home team, the Falcons, they were able to win in the end.

The three-day PMWI 2022 main competition completed on Saturday, with Thai team Vampire Esports emerging victorious. Thailand’s representative squad scored 220 points in 18 games, earning three chicken dinners and 112 finishes. The squad won $500,000 in addition to the championship trophy.

Team Falcons’ efforts won them $300,000, while Stalwart Esports of Mongolia took third place and $160,000. The MVP award and $10,000 awarded to Stalwart Esports, whose star performer Action topped the individual standings from the tournament’s first day on Thursday until it’s completion on Saturday.
Captian of Vampire Esports Rvenclaw stated: “This is the greatest achievement of our lives. It was our team goal to come here and win, and we are so delighted to have done so. We really encouraged each other to win.”
“The Esports Arena at Boulevard Riyadh City is a great venue and the fans created a great atmosphere. It was a great honor to be here in Riyadh and we have really enjoyed our time in Saudi Arabia — it is a beautiful country,” he said. “We have really enjoyed the culture here; the buildings are beautiful, the food has been awesome, and the people have been very welcoming. We will save the money that we have earned from winning the tournament in our bank accounts.”

Prize Pool Distribution
This is a significant validation for Vampire Esports after a long tournament and season. The prize fund for the PMWI 2022 Main Tournament was $2 million. The majority of it has been divided among the top five teams as shown below.
- 220 points [$525,000] for Vampire Esports
- 197 points [$325,000] for Team Falcons
- 180 points [$185,000] for Stalwart Esports
- 159 points [$125,000] for Nigma Galaxy
- 154 points [$100,000] for Damwon Gaming

The head of esports at the Saudi Esports Federation, Faisal bin Hamran, stated: “The PUBG MOBILE World Invitational at Gamers8 witnessed high enthusiasm from the participating teams, the fans present at the Esports Arena at Boulevard Riyadh City, and the tournament followers on Gamers8 channels being broadcast live in eight languages.
“This is our fifth tournament of the Gamers8 season, and the PMWI only adds to the glittering roster of elite action that we have been delighted — and privileged — to have witnessed this summer. I congratulate all the participating teams, especially those who qualified for the Afterparty Showdown that will be held next week.”

After the main competition, all eyes will be on the PMWI 2022 Afterparty Showdown, which will take place from August 18 to 20 at the same location. A extra $1 million is at stake here. Furthermore, the top five teams from the Main Tournament have been invited to the Afterparty.
