Scorn releases on Xbox Game Pass

The Xbox Game Pass subscription service has gotten yet another upgrade, this time introducing a brand-new day one horror game in the shape of Scorn for customers to check out. Microsoft has upgraded its Xbox Game Pass services many times in October 2022, and some of the new features are fitting for the Halloween season.

Scorn is now available for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, as well as Xbox Cloud Gaming. Because the enigmatic adventure title is forsaking the previous-gen platform in favour of the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One owners will need to stream Scorn over Cloud Gaming.

Scorn has been previewed several times this year and is one of the most well-known Xbox platform exclusives slated for this year. Its unusual setting and design, which has attracted similarities to the Alien films and works by H.E. Giger, have made it rather distinctive during Xbox previews over the last few months, and it has now officially arrived.

Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry. It is designed around the idea of ‘being thrown into the world. Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. The unsettling environment is a character itself. Every location contains its own theme (story), puzzles and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive world. Throughout the game you will open up new areas, acquire different skill sets, weapons, various items and try to comprehend the sights presented to you,” a game preview on the Xbox site stated.

Scorn is a first-person horror survival game in which you play as a skinless creature born into a nightmare world filled with terrible monsters trying to get you.   Scorn bills itself as an open-ended horror adventure with several settings each with their own ideas, storylines, and riddles to solve.  Scorn’s plot is told through gameplay; it’s a live, breathing horror adventure in which you choose where to go and what to do.

Scorn is a puzzle game, with players figuring out how to manipulate things in the environment to move through each section. Scorn contains weapons and some fighting components, although, like many other survival-horror games, combat is secondary.

Scorn takes roughly ten hours to complete after you understand how the missions operate.
