Dota 2 glitch delays OG and Team Liquid’s crucial TI11 group stage battle by two hours
After a two-hour technical stoppage, Team Liquid earns a comeback win. They won the series 2-0 against OG.
The OG found themselves in a crucial Ti11 encounter versus Liquid, the regional contenders.
Mikhail “Misha” Agatov was forced to leave the first match of the series on the third day of the group stage. However, it should be a regular DC and re-connect, flipped upside down.

Position 5 support player was unable to reconnect to the game, adding to the uncertainty. In the midst of both sides debating the problem, Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev and Bozhidar “Bzm” Bogdanov stated that they are prepared to continue the match without Misha.
In a show of good sportsmanship, Team Liquid urged OG to wait for Valve to resolve the problem before resuming the game. OG were in terrific shape to win their first game against Team Liquid after gaining a 24-7 kill lead. The game was then suspended shortly before the 26-minute mark while both sides awaited a response from the tech staff. What appeared to be a simple 10-minute patch took approximately two hours to accomplish while the players waited for the situation to calm down. Not everyone was as patient, but OG’s core three of Yuragi, bzm, and ATF insisted on playing the game 4-vs-5 due to their early advantage of 14,000 gold.
Misha’s support Enchantress departed from the game at the 25-minute mark and was unable to reconnect. Two things may have happened, as per Tommy “Taiga” Le.
Misha’s game was either corrupted or there was no reconnect option. Or, Misha pressed the rejoin button, but it promptly “abandoned him.”
PGL did not provide an official explanation for the delay, but Liquid and OG were ultimately able to begin the match two and a half hours after it was scheduled to begin. PGL’s handling of the problem has been highly criticised by fans, however certain factors are ultimately beyond the company’s control. If this glitch reappears and causes The International 2022 main event to be delayed, PGL should have a strategy in place.
This season, following a Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) match between EHOME and Aster. Aries was put on hold due to an unfixable problem in the Dota 2 client. However, the game was restored using the replay control feature, and it proceeded from where it was interrupted due to the issue, although with new bugs.
