Valve gives players a free ‘Dota 2’ Battle Pass, Arcana and a month of Dota Plus subscription to commemorate TI11

The International playoffs are over, and four exceptional teams have emerged with hopes of reclaiming the Aegis still alive. As players gather their breath during this break in the action, valve wanted to give a gift to Dota players all across the world, not just those participating on stage in Singapore.

swag bagThe International 2022 Swag Bag, a free prize for all Dota 2 players, has been unveiled by Valve. Players can l og in now, or at any time before the Battle Pass expires, to receive their three rewards:

  • Dota Plus for one month.
  • If you already have a Battle Pass, you can redeem it for 24 Battle Levels.
  • Choose one Arcana from any available in the Dota 2 shop.

These awards are now accessible to all Dota 2 players who have played at least 10 matches during the Battle Pass season, and will remain available until the end of the season in January.

In addition to the free battle pass, you will be able to sample Dota Plus, Valve’s premium service for the game that provides a number of valuable features for regular players, as well as any Arcana available in the shop.

This is part of Valve’s bigger effort to make the season leading up to TI a more open period for all Dota fans to get more active in the game, whether they just want to keep battling, are new to the community, or are returning after a hiatus.

This is an uncommon move from Valve, who are usually hesitant to give away aesthetic things to Dota players, particularly Arcanas, which have gotten increasingly pricey over the years. However, the development team stated in the blog post unveiling the Swag Bag that it is intended to generate enthusiasm around The International.

TI11 will culminate with its Finals Weekend on the 29th and 30th of October at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Only four teams are in pursuit for the prestigious Aegis of Champions and the largest share of the championship’s US$17.8 million prize pool: Western European heavyweights Team Secret, Tundra Esports, and Team Liquid, as well as the tournament’s lone remaining Chinese participant Team Aster.

On October 30, a new Dota 2 global champion will be crowned.
