#TheGameAwards to Stream live on December 8 from Microsoft Theater in LA

Its finally December, which means that all eyes in the video gaming world are on The Game Awards, the annual end-of-year event that combines Game of the Year awards with previews and reveals for possible future GOTY award winners.

The Game Awards and Keighley will be previewing what to expect at this year’s event via their social media pages, with so far a live presentation from Final Fantasy XVI developer Naoki Yoshida and a musical show of “Blood Upon The Snow” from God of War Ragnarok by popular artist Hozier.

The following is a rundown of everything that has been teased for the show thus far, both by The Game Awards and by the companies themselves:

  • Naoki Yoshida, the producer of Final Fantasy XVI, will give a live presentation.
  • Hozier’s live rendition of “Blood Upon The Snow” from God of War Ragnarok.
  • A 505 Games mystery project with Michael Madsen has been announced for the event.
  • During the pre-show, more information about The Last of Us will be revealed.
  • Josef Faris, the primary developer of It Takes Two, the 2021 Game of the Year, has been announced as a presenter.
  • A Tekken 8-themed box shared by Twitch broadcaster Aris, along with Keighley’s eye emoji response, hint at a revelation.
  • UPDATE: The official Tekken Twitter has verified the appearance of Tekken 8 at the event.
  • Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey from HBO’s The Last of Us, as well as Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson from the video games, have all been confirmed to attend.
  • The Muppets’ Animal has been announced as a presenter.
  • The creator of Battle Chasers: Nightwar and Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, Airship Syndicate, will introduce its next MMO, which will be co-developed with Warframe producer Digital Extremes.

The Game Awards will be livestreamed on its official YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as direct feeds on social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter. The event will also be broadcast on Steam, and those who want to watch may enter to win a free Steam Deck, one of which will be given away by Valve every minute of the livestream.

When The Game Awards airs on Thursday, December 8, Valve will give away a Steam Deck every minute. The Game Awards 2022 are normally three hours long, so that’s 180 Steam Decks!

Fans may already sign up for the Steam Deck drawing and receive an animated Steam Pal digital sticker in their Steam inventory. The huge catch is that you must be watching The Game Awards on Steam.tv, Valve’s streaming service that debuted in 2018. The winner will be revealed in the chat by their Steam login. The reward is a 512 GB variant of Valve’s Steam Deck, a PC gaming portable released in February.
