Dota 2 Patch 7.34 released with balances and adjustments

Valve stated a few weeks ago that Dota 2 patch 7.34 will be released before the TI12 qualifiers. The latest patch released about 9 days before the qualifiers.Dota 2 patch 7.34 introduces several changes, the bulk of which are hero adjustments that will affect the TI12 qualifiers and The International.

It was observed when the latest Dota 2 patch notes were released, and they’re a touch different than others, because they’ve been rendered entirely in emojis. This makes them tough to understand, but that hasn’t stopped the Dota 2 community from creating a 55-page document that translates the entire thing.

While it does not include the much-anticipated 10-year anniversary event or other comparable delights, it does include a number of fixes and modifications. These changes have affected not just heroes and items, but also the Captains Mode Draft Order and general gameplay.

Previously, Captain’s Mode drafting followed a method in which each side banned two heroes, then two picks, three bans, two picks, two bans, and one pick. It now adheres to a new system as of this patch. Radiant bans three heroes and Dire bans four heroes in the first phase, after which each side selects one hero. In the second phase, Radiant bans two heroes and Dire bans one to compensate for the additional one in the first phase, after which each side selects three heroes. In the final phase, each side bans two heroes and chooses their fifth.

Slow Resistance is a new mechanic that has been added to the game. Slow Resistance has been added as a new stat. Slows have a percentage reduction on your hero. Slows’ effect is no longer affected by status resistance. Status Resistance lowered the length and impact of almost half of the current slows in the game, although it now just impacts the duration of slows.

New casting type: Alternative cast

    • Updated the UI for many abilities that were using Auto-Cast to enable different behaviors on an ability
    • Alternative Cast Abilities can be toggled in the same way as Auto-Cast (default to alt+keybind or right clicking) to adjust their cast behavior
    • Alternative Cast Abilities have a unique icon for the different casting modes
    • Holding the Ctrl key will allow you to cast the non-selected version of the ability without having to toggle it

The patch also altered 38 items and 26 neutral items. Midas was the most famous. Transmute has two charges presently. It starts with a single charge and then gets one every 100 seconds up to a maximum of two. Midas’ Hand now carries two charges. When both are utilised at the same time, it takes 100 seconds to replenish the first, and another 100 seconds to replenish the second. This is only useful if Transmute cannot be utilised because the hero is dead or involved in a team battle. It is undeniably advantageous, but it does not, contrary to popular belief, double the item’s gold earning.

This update also includes meta heroes such as Ancient Apparition, Dark Seer, Ember Spirit, Enigma, Faceless Void, Legion Commander, Naga Siren, Spirit Breaker, Undying, and more. Everything from abilities and cooldowns to stats and talents was altered.
