Persona 5 Royal: 10/10 in every category

Persona 5 Royal is finally coming to PC, Switch, and Xbox X|S, and gamers who have yet to play the critically praised Japanese RPG masterwork will be able to immerse themselves in its delightful and completely intriguing universe. Persona 5 Royal is a social-sim with tonnes of fighting, RPG aspects, amusing interactions, and an enthralling plot that will fascinate both experienced and new players, as well as those who despise RPGs or JRPGs.

Persona 5 kicks out its lengthy trip with a bang, plunging you into a fast-paced foot pursuit through a vivid, stylized Tokyo casino. That’s a daring move, and it typifies the entire experience. Both firms certainly didn’t anticipate to release a game that would receive nearly unanimous acclaim for basically every feature and trait that games are assessed on.

Now, with over 5 million copies sold prior to its release on PC, Switch, and Xbox, as well as a slew of awards and cast members appearing in other games such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, it’s easy to see why Persona 5 Royal may be one of those titles whose greatness will not be forgotten.

These unique dungeons take place in “palaces” constructed within each target’s mind, and Atlus takes use of this to situate them in various and bizarre locations. Unlike Persona 3’s Tartarus or Persona 4’s Midnight Channel’s randomly generated halls, Persona 5’s labyrinths are totally hand-built and contain unique puzzles and mechanics that change with the theme of each dungeon and never repeat.

A museum, for example, has quite different security systems than a Medieval castle, and adversaries in a pyramid are extremely different from foes in a spacecraft. Assembling secret code pieces to decode a bank vault’s cryptogram or arranging tiles to read hieroglyphics seem nearly wholly different games. This offers each palace with a feeling of individuality related to the aim, as well as some clever, unexpected story moments and difficulties.

The inclusion of new social acquaintances is one of the most noticeable changes that existing gamers will notice initially. The anime-like graphic design is supported with full animated sequences that are very stunning and serve to highlight significant plot developments.

Persona 5 Royal also received a significant graphics boost from its original PS3 release. The game is more colourful and spectacular than its already stunning original edition, and fans will be amazed at how beautiful the game can be even outside of its anime sequences. Character graphics are sharp, adversaries are well-defined and don’t blend into or stick out from backdrops, and moving around the various locations causes no framerate reductions or stuttering. The aforementioned cutscenes remain a highlight of the game, and anyone who isn’t paying attention could believe the game was paused and an anime programme or movie was put on instead due to their excellent quality.

Persona 5 is a large, beautiful JRPG with over 100 hours of content for hardcores. It stands out as an incredible, unforgettable experience and undoubtedly one of the deepest JRPGs of the previous decade, with more to do than ever before and the series’ finest plot to date. Persona 5 Royal will finally capture the remaining places it had been excluded from, and a whole new group of players will certainly fall in love with this beauty with its release on PC, Switch, and Xbox X|S.
