Dota 2 patch 7.35b introduces new metabalance tweaks
Dota 2 patch 7.35b, the Frostivus upgrade, was released by Valve in the midst of a significant tournament, and now patch 7.35c represents the last refinement. It might have been challenging for the pros at ESL One Kuala Lumpur to adjust to the sudden changes, but a new meta quickly emerged. Spellcaster heroes such as Leshrac, Death Prophet, and others came back as the main beneficiaries of Dota 2 patch 7.35b after 7.35.
Three of the game’s most important items received severe nerfs. Solar Crest, Shiva’s Guard, and Bloodstone, which were formerly recognised for their meta domination, have been tweaked to restore balance among heroes and gameplay.
The patch 7.35 winners were severely targeted in 7.35b, and the nerfs were rapidly reflected in their victory rates. These hapless heroes only terrorised the meta for around 10 days until Valve’s nerf hammer fell.
There are no major changes in Dota 2 patch 7.35b, which is consistent with how balancing patches function. Typically, the first one or two are the smaller, addressing bugs with the big patch. This should make Dota 2 a lot more enjoyable to play during the holidays, as there will be fewer broken strategies and more new ones to learn.
Solar Crest, like the spellcaster’s paradise, has been extensively adjusted down to allow for greater variation in offlane item compositions.
Shiva’s Guard had grown extremely efficient with its new Veil of Discord build-up, and it underwent a significant reduction — armour was reduced from 20 to 16, stats and life regeneration were reduced from eight to six.
For the patch, Bloodstone received only one line: its active Bloodpact no longer returns mana. Because of its unique AOE boost effect, this item may still have a use case, although mana guzzlers like Leshrac and Timbersaw will lament the loss of its restorative functions.
Finally, Dota 2 gamers may celebrate since the 7.35b patch has altered the very influential items that controlled the meta. With nerfs to Solar Crest, Shiva’s Guard, and Bloodstone, the game is on track to provide a more equal playing experience for all heroes and players. As the Dota 2 environment evolves, only time will tell how these developments will affect the game’s future.
