Ultimate flaw exploitation of the new Dota 2 Marcie inflicts tremendous damage with Bloodstone

Marci debuted as a playable character in the 7.30e patch released in October 2021, following a surprise reveal during TI10. She first appeared in the 2D Dota 2 anime “DOTA: Dragon’s Blood.” Marci is classed as a melee hero with adequate strength to operate efficiently in both support and carry roles.

marciMarci is a hero that can blitz through battles and unleash a relentless stream of fast blows on her adversaries despite her small look. Her hallmark move is to grab either an ally or an adversary and fling them backward with a severe impact that stuns hostile troops upon landing. The landing zone transforms into a zone of devastation, injuring and stunning any unlucky foes trapped inside its reach.

With Marci, Dota 2 players identified a significant vulnerability. As a result, the heroine’s ultimate may do massive AoE damage indefinitely. On YouTube, a video exhibiting the flaw was posted.

marciWhen Marci unleashes her ultimate power, Unleash, and then swiftly starts dropping and collecting up Bloodstone, the glitch occurs. To use it, a player must improve the Sidekick ability at least once and purchase Aghanim’s Sceptre.

This confluence of circumstances enables players to exploit this weakness and obtain an advantage in battle. This flaw is a major danger to fair play. It’s especially concerning when certain gamers start exploiting this flaw with custom scripts and programmes. This makes Marci nearly unbeatable in battle, disrupting the game balance and causing unhappiness among other players.

marciSuch a major issue is raising alarm in the Dota 2 community and necessitates immediate action from the game creators. The most potent weapon in her armoury is Unleash. Marci builds up Fury charges to perform quick successions of attacks, each ending with a powerful pulse surrounding the victim. For 2 seconds, this pulse inhibits mobility and attack speed. There is a brief 1.5-second break between these Fury combinations during which she does not strike. When Marci activates Unleash, she gains a crucial dispel as well as a hefty 15% increase in her speed.

When modified using scripts, the flaw becomes more effective. According to Reddit, Bloodstone’s newly enhanced area-of-effect (AoE) boost has a rippling impact on Sidekick’s passive ability. This interaction successfully reapplies the ability improvement to Marci, fooling the system into seeing it as an ability usage, triggering the Aghanim-based pulse during Unleash. As a result, dropping or picking up Bloodstone causes several unleash pulses to occur during the ultimate.

marciAccording to Reddit explanations, Bloodstone’s new AoE boost impacts Sidekick’s passive effect. It reapplies Marci’s ability boost, which counts as an ability usage and triggers the Aghanim-based pulse during Unleash. As a result, dumping or picking up Bloodstone causes pulses to be released during the final ability ultimate.
