IPL 2023 Full Player List Unveiled by Franchises Before IPL Mini Auction
On Tuesday (November 15), all ten Indian Premier League (IPL) teams unveiled their final list of dismissed and retained players ahead of the 2023 mini-auction. The ten teams let go of a number of notable stars as they seek to bolster their rosters with fresh signings at the mini-auction next month.

The top three clubs to discharge the most players were the Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, while the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) each released five players. Surprise releases occurred when the Sunrisers and Punjab Kings parted ways with their respective captains from the previous season.
The day began with Kieron Pollard, the Mumbai Indians’ long-serving West Indian all-rounder, declaring his retirement from the IPL, only to be chosen as the team’s batting coach.

In other major moves, Punjab Kings dismissed previous season’s captain Mayank Agarwal, while Sunrisers Hyderabad removed West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran.
The Mumbai Indians have released up to 13 players, including Kieron Pollard, who retired earlier in the day.
“It’s a difficult decision. In terms of player retention and release, you know that CSK has always been very enthusiastic about the players, and they have also contributed to the franchise. It becomes really tough for us to make a decision when it comes to releasing the athletes. The contribution they have made to CSK will always be remembered, and we know that if the chance arises for any of them to return, they would do it in CSK colours,” Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of CSK, stated.

Aside from Bravo, CSK has opted to let go of England’s death-overs specialist Chris Jordan, which may surprise some.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals have released four players, namely Mandeep Singh, KS Bharat, and Ashwin Hebbar of India, and Tim Seifert of New Zealand. The Delhi Capitals have also transferred all-rounder Shardul Thakur to the Kolkata Knight Riders and replaced him with all-rounder Aman Khan.

Winners of the first edition Rajasthan Royals have discharged nine players in total, four Indians and five foreign players, for a total of Rs 13.2 crore. Among those who have been freed are James Neesham, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Rassie van der Dussen.
Former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha feels that CSK is not a team that thinks in a lot of changes, therefore the franchise will look for someone who can lead the side for the next five to six years in the IPL, and the search will begin soon Dhoni gets the signal to go. Pragyan Ojha stated, “There can’t be a different captain while MS Dhoni is playing. Last year, it became even evident. Having said that, if you had asked me a year ago, I would have replied Kane Williamson.”
