Jordan Pickford signs four-and-a-half-year contract with Everton till June 2027

Jordan Pickford has signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal with Everton, committing his future to the Club through June 30, 2027.

The Blues and England No. 1 goalkeeper believes it is “huge” for him to prolong his stay “at such a fantastic club” as he repeated his ambition to leave a legacy with Everton, whom he joined in June 2017 from Sunderland.

Pickford has become one of the world’s finest goalkeepers throughout his tenure at Everton, establishing himself as England’s first-choice shot-stopper and becoming a fan favourite for both club and country with his consistent and high-caliber performances.

The 28-year-outstanding old’s performances earned him the Blues’ Player of the Season award last season, with the courageous goalkeeper also receiving the Players’ Player and Young Player awards in 2017/18.

Pickford has collected all of his 50 England caps during his tenure at Everton. He has also guided England to a World Cup semifinal and European Championship final.

Pickford told reporters: “It’s massive to sign this new contract at such a special club for me. The support I’ve had from everyone at the Club since I joined as a 22-year-old has been so important to my family and me. I’m happy here and so are my family. We love it at Everton.”

“Everton is a massive club. The past few seasons have not been what we wanted but we now have a manager who I believe will point us in the right direction and get us up the table. It’s definitely my aim to be successful at this club. The fans, the staff and my teammates have been great with me from the moment I joined and I want to be great for them. I just want to keep working hard and performing for Everton. We know we are in a tough place at the moment in the league but I’m eager to help the team improve this season and then aim for success in the future, which will include playing in our new stadium.”

“This contract will take me to more than 10 years at Everton and I want to build a legacy here to put myself up there with the likes of Neville Southall to be one of the best keepers to have played for Everton.”

Pickford made his senior debut for Sunderland in January 2016 after loan stints at Darlington, Alfreton Town, Burton Albion, Carlisle United, Bradford City, and Preston North End. He is a famous shot-stopper with good distribution.

Moving to Merseyside in the summer of 2017, he quickly became a fan favourite with Evertonians while playing every minute of the Blues’ 38 Premier League matches and winning the three most prestigious trophies at the Club’s end-of-season ceremony.

Pickford earned his England debut in November 2017 and went on to become one of the heroes of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, as his penalty shootout heroics helped Gareth Southgate’s squad reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 1990.

Pickford became one of England’s top and most significant players during England’s march to the Wembley final of the 2021 European Championship, which was postponed due to the 2022 World Cup.
