Valve confirms the return of the Frostivus event in Dota 2

Valve has revealed that the Frostivus 2023 Christmas event in DOTA 2 will return this year, providing a slew of new cosmetic items between the event’s start and finish dates. DOTA 2’s Frostivus 2023 event was mentioned in a November blog post, when the developer also disclosed that the MOBA’s next Arcanas event had been postponed, and will now go online somewhere in 2024. Valve has confirmed the forthcoming Dota 2 Frostivus event, the sixth since 2012.

dotaThe introduction of Arcanas is supposed to alleviate the dissatisfaction of The International 2023 Compendium. The event, which will return after four years, is expected to be major, and Valve intends to release Frostivus in December.

According to Valve’s article, the firm is working hard to prepare for Frostivus. With The International 2023 completed, all attention is now focused on Frostivus.

Although no specific date was given, the festive mood is expected to be revealed around December, raising excitement among Dota 2 players. Notably, the last Frostivus celebration in Dota 2 occurred in 2019. The blog article took on a lighter tone, with a fictitious character dubbed “little Timmy” expressing excitement for Arcanas’ debut. Valve reacted lightheartedly, assuring the crowd that, despite the delays, they are actively working on the Arcanas and have a slew of upgrades in store for the Dota 2 community.

It is uncertain what surprises developers have in store for players, but they will most likely be comparable to prior events’ presents that could be earned as prizes for Battle Pass levels.
