Dota 2 ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 starts with a bang
Dota 2 teams from across the globe have spent the last month rebuilding and warming up following The International 12 (TI12), and ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 will be their first significant test. ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, which takes place from the 11th to the 17th of December 2023, will feature 12 of the world’s finest teams. Three teams were invited immediately, while the rest nine advanced through the qualifiers. A total of $1,000,000 USD in prize money will be at stake.

Here are the Group Stage groupings:
Group A consists of the following teams: Azure Ray, BetBoom Team, Blacklist International, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Secret, and Wawitas Sagazes.
9Pandas, Invictus Gaming, LGD Gaming, Team Falcons, Team Liquid, and TSM are in Group B.
The top four teams from each group will proceed to the Playoffs, while the worst two will be eliminated. The top two teams from each group will begin the Playoffs in the upper bracket, while the third and fourth-placed teams will begin in the lower bracket. Following a one-day break, the Playoffs will begin, pitting the eight remaining teams in a double-elimination format. Except for the Grand Finals, which will be a full best-of-five series, all Playoff matchups will be best-of-three. The Group Stage will only be available online, however the Playoffs will be available both online and in person at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre.

- Two single round-robin groups of six teams each
- All series consist of two games.
- Top two teams from each group advance to upper bracket of playoffs
- 3rd to 4th place teams from each group advance to lower bracket of playoffs
- Remaining teams are eliminated
- Playoffs – December 15 – December 17, 2023
- Double-elimination bracket
- All matches except Grand Final are Best of 3
- Grand Final is Best of 5
Prize pool distribution
Based on final positions, the $1,000,000 will be divided among the 12 teams as follows.
- 1st – $300,000 (4,800 EPT Points)
- 2nd – $175,000 (3,600 EPT Points)
- 3rd – $120,000 (3,000 EPT Points)
- 4th – $85,000 (2,400 EPT Points)
- 5th-6th – $57,500 (1,680 EPT Points)
- 7th-8th – $47,500 (780 EPT Points)
- 9th-10th – $30,000 (420 EPT Points)
- 11th-12th – $25,000 (210 EPT Points)
The official ESL Dota 2 Twitch and YouTube channels will stream live coverage of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023. Secondary and tertiary Twitch feeds will also be live throughout the Group Stage to handle the increased amount of matches each day.
