Dota 2 The International 2024: Prize pool of $2.4 million
At the Dota 2 TI 2024 this year, 16 teams will compete for the coveted Aegis. Group Stage matches for the International 2024 will begin with A, B, C, and D groups of opponents. From there, each club will fight for a postseason berth. But the TI season appears to be a carbon copy of the previous one, with a far smaller $1,600,000 prize pool and lacklustre Compendium awards.
On the official event website, Dota 2 fans have increased the prize pool for The International 2024 to a whopping $2.4 million.
A $1.6 million prize fund was established at the outset. The compendium donates 25% of all purchases to the prize fund, and in only 12 days since its introduction, the community has raised an extra $800,000. Up until the tournament’s conclusion, the total will rise, and the winner will get 45% of the total prize money.
The International 2024 will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from September 4–15.
When the global pandemic struck in 2020, Valve made an attempt to return its most famous event to Europe for the first time. TI10 was relocated from Sweden to Romania and rescheduled for 2021. A fresh wave of coronavirus compelled Valve to refund all tickets even though they had been sold, and the event was moved to an empty stadium in Bucharest. Since then, TI has relocated to Singapore in 2022 and returned to Seattle last year.
Dota 2 The International 2024 will include 16 teams in total: 6 invited teams, 10 teams via regional qualifiers, 2 teams each from Western Europe, China, Southeast Asia, and South America, and 1 team each from Eastern Europe and North America.
September 4-5 is when the Dota 2 The International 2024 Group Stage will happen. Four groups, each consisting of four teams, have been formed from these participating teams. All group stage contests will be best-of-two series affairs.
For the purpose of seeding matches, the top two teams in each group will play against the third or fourth place teams in the opposing group (A vs. B and C vs. D). The order in which the top 16 teams compete in the main event bracket will be decided by the seeding deciders, which are scheduled for September 6-7. In order to decide the main event bracket placement, these 16 teams will compete in eight best-of-three head-to-head matches.
