DOTA 2 Battle Pass 2022 Part 1 released with all new Arcanas and skins

After a protracted wait, the Ti11 Dota 2 Battle Pass is officially available, giving fans of the well-known MOBA the option to support the game’s professional community while also obtaining some amazing cosmetics for their favourite characters.

Many people are confused about a number of aspects of the TI 2022 Battle Pass, the TI11 prize pool, and other topics because the format of this year’s Battle Pass differs drastically from those of its predecessors.

Battle Pass has always been an early May event that takes the joyful atmosphere of The International with it and expires a few weeks following TI. Valve adopted a new strategy this year, announcing that the Battle Pass will be available closer to The International and would continue longer following TI.

Instead of arriving roughly a hundred days before The International, this year’s Battle Pass came 43 days before the event. However, it will arrive in two parts: Part I will be from now until TI11, and Part II will be after TI11. A significant portion of the Battle Pass, featuring cosmetics such as the Voidstorm Asylum Razor Arcana and Immortal II prizes, as well as a Diretide event, will not be available until after TI11. Valve’s website says that more content will be released during Part II of the Battle Pass, which will run from November 3 to January 12.

dota2Every purchase made before the end of TI11 will go towards the prize pool. Given the shortened fundraising time, TI11 will most certainly have a much lower prize pool than last year’s record-breaking US$40 million. Hopefully, the funding for Part II will be used for something else, such as the Dota Pro Circuit’s several Regional Leagues, which will aid in the development of a healthier and more balanced competitive environment.

battle passClaszian Apostasy, the long-awaited DOTA 2 arcana for Faceless Void Arcana, is included in Part 1. Each facet of his talents has a bespoke makeover, giving him a Nightmarish horror aesthetic. At Level 495, the cosmetic will be unlocked. Players can also collect 250 points to unlock a second option style. Each adversary killed in a Chronosphere gets one point, while a single win can provide up to six points. Both kills and assists are counted. Exile Unveiled, a cosmetic persona for Phantom Assassin, will also appear in Part 1. It is marked as “coming soon” and will be located on Level 296.

The official Dota2 website stated: “The 2022 Battle Pass has arrived to fill the rest of the year with epic amounts of Dota fun. Featuring two parts that span the next four months — with Part I celebrating the majesty of The International and Part II arriving after the tournament to usher in a frosty twist on Diretide — this Battle Pass offers a host of special features and legendary rewards.

In addition to multiple Mythical and Immortal treasures, you can find new Arcana items for Faceless Void and Razor; Personas for Phantom Assassin and Crystal Maiden; a Prestige set for Primal Beast; an evolving courier; a special Mystery Announcer Pack and so much more. Some are already available (or coming soon), and others will arrive in Part II.”

dota2It’s also reasonable to assume that the great bulk of Battle Pass-related purchases will be made during Part 1 of the Pass, with a quarter of them still contributing toward the TI11 prize pool. However, based on early indications, it does not appear like this year’s TI will be able to surpass TI10’s world record-setting prize pool of $40,018,195.

It remains to be seen whether Valve will leverage the purchases made during Part 2 of the Battle Pass to fund the prize pool of regional leagues or Majors in the 2023 DPC season.
