AFC Richmond from the show Ted Lasso will feature in FIFA 23

AFC Richmond, the fictitious football team from the Apple TV+ sitcom Ted Lasso, will be playable in EA Sports’ video game FIFA 23 beginning September 30. In addition to the squad, players may choose series protagonist Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, as a player character.

EA released the announcement, along with a trailer featuring everyone’s “favourite moustachioed manager,” according to the corporation.

EA is probably hoping that the addition of the iconic TV character would bring in new gamers. Because the video game series normally incorporates real-life clubs, the addition of “Ted Lasso” characters like as Lasso, Coach Beard, Jamie Tartt, Dani Rojas, Sam Obisanya, Roy Kent, and Isaac McAdoo is a major addition that will delight many fans.

There will also be AFC Richmond-specific things available in the FIFA Ultimate Team format, like as kits, manager stuff, and other material.

FIFA 23 will be released on September 30 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Stadia, and Xbox One. FIFA 23 will be the final game in the series to bear the FIFA moniker, so it should leave a lasting impression on fans. After nearly 30 years, EA Sports declared the end of its partnership with FIFA and would instead continue the video game franchise under a new brand — EA Sports FC. While fans will most certainly continue to play games without the word “FIFA” in the title, this is a huge step forward for the football game.
