Cyberpunk 2077: More than 20 million units Sold
Since its release in the late year of 2020, CD Projekt RED’s latest role-playing game, Cyberpunk 2077, has surpassed 20 million copies sold, the developer announced today. This marks an important sales milestone for the company’s latest RPG. The game has reached this impressive number at the same time that it is experiencing a massive revival in players as a consequence of recent major updates and the reveal of an Edgerunners spin-off anime.
Over 20 million cyberpunks have been roaming the streets of Night City – partying with Jackie and getting to know Johnny, driving around with Panam and diving with Judy, hanging out with River and listening to Kerry’s songs.
Thank you and we hope to see you all in the Afterlife! pic.twitter.com/ifFLhg6npO

“Over 20 million cyberpunks have been roaming the streets of Night City—partying with Jackie and getting to know Johnny, driving around with Panam and diving with Judy, hanging out with River and listening to Kerry’s songs,” CD Projekt tweeted on twitter. “Thank you and we hope to see you all in the Afterlife!”
Selling 20 million units is an incredible feat that places the game in some very spectacular company, including CD Projekt’s previous game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, though it’s still a long way from true goliaths like Minecraft (238 million), Grand Theft Auto 5 (170 million), or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (75 million). Even more astounding is the speed with which it completed the accomplishment. It took six years for Stardew Valley to sell 20 million units, four years for The Witcher 3, and it took less than two years for Cyberpunk 2077.
Each day of this week Night City has been visited by 1 million players, both new and returning.
We wanted to use this opportunity to thank you for being with us and playing the game. Thanks, Chooms! 💛 pic.twitter.com/zqggblztF8— Cyberpunk 2077 (@CyberpunkGame) September 21, 2022
