“This contract is unique, but I’m unique,” says Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo was formally introduced as the Saudi Arabian club’s new superstar acquisition by Al Nassr, and he stated that he had rejected down many offers from Europe and North America.
In one of the more surprise moves in recent history, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus attacker has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract to play in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo, who has five Ballon d’Or trophies and five Champions League wins, will make his debut appearance outside of Europe.

Rudi Garcia, the coach of Al-Nassr, expects Cristiano Ronaldo would “rediscover the joy of playing” when he adds some star power to the Saudi league.
“The only thing I wish for Ronaldo is that he rediscovers the pleasure of playing and smiles again because in recent months between Manchester United, the national team and then at a personal level he hasn’t had easy moments,” Garcia made the remarks on the sidelines of the Dakar Rally, which was held in the kingdom on Sunday.

Before making his Al Nassr debut, Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo must serve a two-match suspension from the English Football Association. Ronaldo received the ban in November after striking a mobile phone out of the palm of a young supporter after Manchester United, his club at the time, lost to Everton.
Al Nassr is yet to register Ronaldo since the Saudi club has reached its foreign player limit.

Ronaldo, whose contract is worth an estimated 200 million euros until June 2025, is Al Nassr’s ninth international player, one more than the Saudi football officials allow.
Although he was unable to play for Al-Nassr FC in their postponed 2-0 victory against Al Ta-ee, Cristiano Ronaldo was greeted with applause and stated earlier this week that he came to Saudi Arabia in search of a fresh challenge despite having offers from all around the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo left the game between Al-Nassr and Al-Ta’ee to use the training room. The 37-year-old had sat in a VIP box for the opening 45 minutes as he began a two-match suspension.
Ronaldo watched the remainder of the game from the training room while he took his seat in the stands and waved to fans before the game.

The Saudi Arabian club released a video of him cheering Brazilian Talisca’s second goal. Talisca scored first in the first half. Ronaldo will also miss Al-next Nassr’s match against Riyadh rivals Al Shabab on January 14.
“I’m a unique player. It’s good to come here, I broke all the records there in Europe and I want to break a few records here,” said Ronaldo.
