Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake speeds through Italy’s heartland
Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake brought the thrill of Formula One racing to Italy’s heartlands as its race car sped between two of Alfa Romeo’s production plants – in Cassino and Pomigliano d’Arco.
The Southern half of Italy is a land of quiet, small villages, signature ancient stone houses and narrow streets. These peaceful landscapes are not the natural setting to spot an actual Formula One car – and yet, this is exactly where Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake brought its racing machine in a memorable outing for the Biscione brand.
Many of us dream of being a professional racing driver, but what is it really like?

The team’s iconic red and black car, usually seen racing on the most renowned circuits in the world in the Formula One World Championship, was seen bursting, in the hands of Zhou Guanyu, on the open roads of the Bel Paese, ideally linking the Alfa Romeo production plants of Cassino and Pomigliano d’Arco. There, close to the beating heart of the Italian brand, its iconic cars have been built for over fifty years.

After the run through the Italian roads, the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake drivers had their share of fun performing donuts in front of a crowd of enthusiast Alfa Romeo employees, who also got to meet the heroes that carry the Alfa Romeo name – and its values – all over the world.
Next week, drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will swap the Italian scenery for that of Baku, as they return to racing at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
