Execration signs ‘Krish’ as their new Carry and Position 1
Krish “Krish” Gupta has joined the Execration Dota 2 lineup, taking up the carry role. The formal announcement was made on the club’s Twitter feed. Prior to this, the esports athlete played with Myth Avenue Gaming for fewer than three months. Notably, he is the only Indian player on the squad, since the others are from Singapore.
Krish reached 10,000 MMR on March 14, 2022.
Krish departed his previous squad, Myth Avenue Gaming, after they failed to qualify for The International (TI) 2023. During the TI qualifications, the squad finished 9th-12th, a poor result. Krish also competed for India at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022, but did not fare well. India finished 12th-15th in the event and was eliminated during the group round for failing to win a single match.
Execration (also known as XctN) is a Dota 2 squad located in the Philippines. Originally two teams, the team was merged into one, consisting of Kim0, Foxx, Ewe, RR, Abeng, and their manager Beho, with InterActive Philippines as the title sponsor. The team achieved success in the Star Ladder Star Series Season 10 – SEA Division, and with the addition of the final member Bimbo (a former captain and mid-laner of Mineski), the team continued to perform well in the SEA Region, defeating various strong teams and winning the position of SEA Representative for the Star Ladder Star Series Season 10 – Lan Finals.
Execration later dropped their sponsor InterActive Philippines and returned to their old team name, Execration. With the arrival of Doc and Primo, former comrades from prior teams, the squad is rebuilding and proving to the world that they are deserving of their triumphs.
Krish has spent the most of his Dota 2 professional career in the Tier 3 circuit. He has played for several well-known teams, including Entity, TNC Predator, IHC Esports, and Myth Avenue Gaming. His last tournament victory came in 2022 with TNC Predator. The team won the Moon Studio September Mood 2022, a tier 3 event with a tiny prize fund of $15,000 USD.
Krish has yet to succeed in the Dota 2 competitive scene. He is looking forward to making a reputation for himself now that he has signed with Execration. Krish will now be able to compete in the top 1 and tier 2 scenes, which might finally turn his fortunes around in Dota 2 competitions.
